Thanked: 12Love my Gillette
I love my Gillette Speed DE! It's my birth year razor and shaves well, but it's looking pretty "brassy". Is there anyone who specializes in re-plating these? I saw the thread about Cerecoat, and that would be an easy fix, but I like to keep things more original. This is the razor I use on my head (fairly bare up there), and would really like to return it to top shape.
Thanks

Thanked: 12Sorry for taking so long to get back to everyone. The wife and I talked about my options, and since today is my birthday, she decided a nice gift would be to have my razor finished in something that will last a very long time. It sounds like it will get a new Rhodium finish, which I think looks awesome.
Thanks again.

Thanked: 0Just happened to stumble across this thread. I'm surprised and thankful I ended up in the conversation. Yes, we do bath plating in nickel, silver, gold and rhodium.

Personally I would try one of these razors for $20. It's probably the same thing and if so will save you money over a custom restore.

Thanked: 0I've seen those pawn shop razors on ebay starting at $5 brand new. If you're thinking about one I'd try there first. That razor is what got me started with DE shaving.
