I was very nervous the first shave with the 37c due to several warnings. Used a Feather blade, and it is a wonderful shaver. Enjoy.

Yea, you read dire warnings about the deadly Merkur slant all over the place same with Feather blades. My guess is that most of the kerfluffle comes from brand new to DE shavers diving right in wanting to use a really bad azzed razor straight off the mark. No technique and a very sharp blade usually spell trouble.

I put a GSB blade into the slant to try it out. In my other razors (DE89, Parker 22R and 24C) I got wickedly painful shaves on my neck with that blade. It felt like I had 1000 papercuts on my neck. In the slant, nice, smooth and clean shave! Feather blade is next to try!

GSD...1 good shave, 2 bad shaves. It was nice the first day. The next day I used a SR for the first 2 passes and cleaned up with the Slant/GSB on my neck area. Lots of weepers and irritation on the neck. Used the GSB in the slant this morning, not a very close shave at all, weepers all over my neck. Looks like the GSB and I don't get along well! Trying the Feather tomorrow!

I have shaved with my slant with Feather and Super Iridium blades and both worked great for me.

Yeah, feathers and GSB in my Parker 24C and EJ89 left my neck raw and painful. GSB in the slant was OK for 1 shave, horrible after that. My Gillette Yellow 7 O'Clock was only OK in the slant (it's my fave go to blade in the Parker 24C and EJ89). I tried a Voshkod Teflon coated blade and that worked very very well in the slant (best of the 3 blades so far), may need to try it in the Parker 24C! Still have Feather, Personna Reds and Shark Super Stainless to try out in the slant.

Just goes to show that some razors and blades work differently together! Gilette Yellows are very smooth and painless in the 24C, but only OK in the slant! GSB were intolerable in the 24C, tolerable for 1 shave, but weepers and not close on 2nd and 3rd shave.

Tried the Feathers the past 2 days. TONS of weepers on the neck both days, but no thousand paper cut feeling. Will try one of the other blades tomorrow!
