Thanked: 12Store brand blades
I was wondering if anybody has experience with store brand blades? For example, I know here in Michigan Meijer has their own brand of DE blades. I can't imagine there are many company's that make blades, so they are probably Persona's, right? Or do any of the drug stores(Walgreens,CVS,Riteaid) have blades? I usually get my blades from Maggards, but I am in between orders right now, and need something right now.

I don't have any experience with store brand blades, but I did notice yesterday that Walmart has two brands of blades. One was Wilkinson and I can't remember the other. I generally buy my Astra blades from Amazon in the 100 pack.

Wilkinson is a fair blade and won't cause problems for most folks.

I tried some Wilkinson blades a while back and really like them, much better than the store brand at CVS which may be Persona. Here is a link where you can pick them up for a very reasonable price if you buy several packs due to how they charge for shipping, you'll have to experiment with different quantities in the Shopping Cart to receive lowest shipping cost;

Thanked: 2591I like the Wilkinson blades as well. I mainly use Super Iridium and Feathers though.

Store brands were the reason I switched from DE to cartridges 30 something years ago. I didn't know that there were any other kinds of DE blades until I found SRP. Maggards sample pack brought the DE back into my shave life. I'd probably use a rebranded Wilkinson, but if I couldn't identify the brand I'd rather have a beard. YMMV.

I bought DE blades from Dollar General that were made in S. Korea. I suspect they are Dorcos and don't recommend them.

Each store works out their own deal with a manufacturer. You can assume price is the main factor so don't expect top of the line blades with a retailers mark on them.
