Thanked: 12Flying with DE blades
I was wondering about flying with DE blades. I will be flying next month to Florida. Do I need to check them? I do not usually check bags, but I can if I have to. Can I just leave a blade in my razor? Or should I take a new one still in the wrapper? Don't really want to get it taken, but dont really want to go back to disposals. Any info would be a big help.

Thanked: 12Also, should I travel with my razor broken down in to 3 pieces, or leave it together? or does it matter?

Thanked: 3225As far as I know DE blades cannot be in your carry on. You might be OK with a DE with no blades in your carry on.

Check them...or mail them ahead.
The last time I had a DE in my Carry On I was transporting a "Birth Year" SS to a friend I was meeting.
And I told them there was a DE in my 1 QT bag, that I had no blades and still got hauled off for the check.
They where very good natured, wanted to know more about DE's etc. but...you are still going to get stopped.
And then... the law of unintended consequences kicks in and the next thing you know you are standing in your BVDs in some drafty room getting "the treatment".
Spare yourself...mail ahead or check.
