I'm too frugal to change the blade every shave. before i went exclusively to straights (except for the rare hurried moment) i found that just rinsing the blade and blowing it off helped make it last. also deliberately flipping the blade after each shave seemed to help. dry the razor with a towel and put the blade back in.

I did about the same. Loosened head, rinsed, towel dried, and left to dry. On next use, I tighten the head. I'd replace blade every week (could have gone longer probably, but easier to just replace on weekend). For brush, I'd run water over it while swirling in bowl, until lather gone. Would shake dry and put in holder until next shave.
Regards,
PCM

For my Gillette Adjustables and TTO'S, open remove blade, pat not wipe dry, rinse razor and shake, replace blade, loosely close and hang. For 3 pieces, Take apart, wipe dry, pat blade, reassemble hang on it's hook. about once a year I clean all razors with toothpaste and brush, rinse, blow dry an use gun oil or WD-40 on moving parts. Seems like a lot of fuss but that just my way.

Thanked: 220My DE's stay closed with the blades in them until the blade's dull and time to change. After shaving I rinse it under hot water and use tissue paper or a Q-Tip to clean the soap from under the head. When I pull the old blade out is when I'll use the same method to clean inside the head.
As for my brushes, I just rinse them under hot water, squeeze out the soap & water, shake them, wipe the handle on a towel, and then hang them in a brush stand to fully dry.

Razor: remove blade and pat dry, wipe razor dry , reinstall blade and hang
Brush: Rinse well in warm water, shake well and hang to dry
