Gentlemen,
Lynn is right, the Feather Artist Club (straight razor with replaceable blades) and the Mongoose, which uses the same blades as the Artist Club, are two different worlds.
I plan to use the Mongoose with the Feather Professional blades all this week and then write my thoughts on the forum when finished with my unscientific test.
Thus far, on my first shave this week — I have shaved with my Mongoose once before, so in essence this makes it my second shave — the razor is quite comfortable and forgiving. The large shave head is not a problem, nor the weight and bulk. It is a good shaver so far, but for efficiency and closeness of the shave, it fails to match the Wolfman — which is also silky smooth.

I haven't used the mongoose. But it would be hard pressed to beat an old school SE razor loaded with pella blades. With my Gem 1912, I often get as good as a straight shave. And it is oh so comfy. Picked it up for a lot cheaper too. Rapidly became my go to travel kit.

Thanked: 4942I used to use the old Schick Injector from the 40's with the Bakelite handle. It also is a good shaver IMO.
Have fun.
