    Default VestPok Razor

I wanted to share this little thing before stowing it into my display case! A friend gave it to me who found it among his father's effects.
It is a "VestPok" roller razor made by Ward Machine Co in Brockton, Mass. It is about 1 1/4 inches square. I figured out you take a penknife or screwdriver and turn the inner cylinder 180 degrees and slide the little double edged blades in and out. They seem to be welded to a beam. Looks like you roll the perforated cylinder up and down the face. The blades rock back and forth and cut what hairs that are unlucky enough to stick thru the perforations! Gave it a few rolls and sure enough,
    A cool display piece!

Cool razor. A little scary looking, but cool.

Very Cool!!! Same principle as a electric razor with blade & foil. You just have to make the buzzing sound yourself.

Looks like something designed for travel or a quick shave. I guess it didn't catch on.

Yes, it seems they put a lot of work into it. I shouldof put in a fresh(?) blade in and given it a fair shake. I think it was for freshening up a shave in a pinch, back when it mattered. Seems it would reduce stubble, but that's about it.
By the way, Spendur. Your sig sucks! OH! it's supposed to!

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I'm guessing it was more expensive and a hassle compared to safety razors, so the DE won in the end. But surely you're going to take her for a spin if for no other reason than letting the dedicated readership of SRP know what it was like?

HA! I guess I am in a better position than most to give it a go! OK I am about to shave tomorrow. The next day, I will pluck a "new" blade out of the middle of this lineup (all imbedded in a piece of wood) and roll it up and down,
See what happens? Hard to think they put this much work into something which would not work! (probably did!)
