Default Was looking at blade sample packs...

    Think I will avoid these......

    R.R.P £5.99 Our Price £4.39 Limited Time OnlyTotal 15 individually warped blades ( NOT 15 PACKS )

    Couldn't resist sharing...lol

Anybody have suggestions on sample packs?

I bought 10 Merkur Super Platinum w/razor and have had no issues but have read many have (Must be my outstanding prep skills). I also have nothing to compare them with and only have a couple left so its time to test...

+1 for Maggards. I would make your own "Pack". Buy 5 packs in their sampler and you get 10% off. They have a great assortment. You chose which 5 packs to try. Most packaged samplers have one of more "stinker" blades in them.

Individually warped blades sound more interesting than most. I started with a sample pack - can't recall from where, it was a long time ago. I remember many cuts and lousy shaves before I learned to buy Feathers. Feel free to learn from my experience and just get some Feather blades.

I always got good shaves from the merkur blades. I too had heard a lot of folks didn't like them. I grabbed a bunch of samples from maggards and srd an found feathers are my blade hands down. Won't know till you try, but I would for sure give the feathers a go.

I started looking into the pick 5 and said heck with it, I can buy 50 blades for less than $20 and that is a years blades for me. From posts and comments online, odds are good I will like the feathers.

I am going to get some and if I don't like them I can send them to one of you guys for postage.

I have some serious strop research to do....

So I got the feather blades and got a closer shave. Still have a little problem under the jaw which I now know is my technique for sure....

Lee's razors and WestCoastShaving offer samplers too. I think all vendors do. I don't think any other factor in wet-shaving has the YMMV disclaimer more than blade selection.
