    Default Valet Auto Strop Razor

Today was the first time I have used a SE razor. I normally use a straight razor. To me the Valet Auto Strop Razor looks like medieval torture device of sorts. I think it was type B unit. I have an earlier one which is huge compared to the one I used tonight. I even used a Valet blade that came with it still in it's original wrapping. No rust!

I was impressed with the shave TBH. Super smooth and no nicks or cuts. Stretching the skin sure came in handy. Would I use it everyday? I like straight razors too much, but one occasion I'd use it. Might use in my rotation.

When I done shaving and it was all dry, I used the strop that it has. 4 back and forth motions, blade all shiny and ready to go again!

My wife is impressed with how smooth my face is too.....

Not a rush of Valet lovers here!

I am happy to hear you got a good shave with an old NOS blade. My experience hasn't been great with NOS blades, but I love the Valet shave with a Feather single edge blade. A terrific shaver/blade combination. The B models are nice for the adjustability - a little older than the one you are using.

You can modify a new single edge blade to fit. You should be able to find it on you tube. I have one I have not used it yet. It came with a few blades still in the wrapper. I might give it a go.
