Thread: OK to wipe DE blades with lighter fluid?

    Not sure what it is on the Astra but. Use only feathers in my DE haven't noticed a problem, I've been shaving with a DE for over 40 years and never had any blades with glue dots, but their not on the edge, what is it your accomplishing by wiping them?, as too will it hurt I doubt it. Tc

    Let me see if i can find a picture of a Feather blade...I'll take some HQ pics with my iPhone tomorrow. This is the best I found so far. Notice the glue dots...well wax I guess from the wax paper.

    If its not on the edge,,, what difference does it make ?

    Try taking a Q-Tip & rolling it over the glue dot a couple of times, it should pick up the dot.

    I would not be putting lighter fluid on my razor.
