Methanol and ethanol, used in fuels and other applications, are typically not corrosive unless there are inorganic salts present. Mineral spirits is a common third ingredient, used pretty much everywhere, including removal of paints and adhesives from steels. However, the particular brand might have additives/contaminates that may yield different results. If you really want, I would recommend Goo Gone, it is safe for metals not so for leather.
