Thanked: 1184There are only 2 obstacles. Your brain and your hand. Just go slow until you overcome both.
And never think for a second that you can't do it. That is the first step to failure at anything.
Oh, and when you look in the mirror the right side of your face is actually the left :<0)Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Both hands with safety razor after three months. 2 months Str8 both hand WTG.
xtg and atg I still use my dominant hand but will eventually gain enough confidence to do them with both as well.
Take your time and good luck..

The transition to using both the right and left hand to shave with a straight razor was fairly easy for me. Being a former martial artist used to using both hands and feet plus being a former drummer in a band used to using both hands and feet at the same time each doing something different helped to establish fairly good control of movement so it was a short learning curve to switch to using both hands. It was not completely accident free as the first time I tried using my left I cut my finger on the hand that was doing the stretching leaving a pretty nasty scare. I tried the butter knife trick before attempting to use the left hand again.

I found a dull razor in an antique store a few weeks ago and used it to practice my left hand technique. It worked! I'm still learning but I'm shaving with my left hand! Thanks Guys!!
