Hi Scareface! It's your friendly, capitalistic, retired CPA again. Got to admit that the OneBlade has stroked my curiosity, and I may even anti-up and buy one! Now I have a couple of "serious" questions for you that I hope you will consider to answer. First, I noted that OneBlade's "targeted customer" is a current multi-blade cartridge user. Now I also know that is "not you", as I believe you also use straights in your rotation. Given that, why did you go for the OneBlade? I suspect that your answer is "out of curiosity", which is the same reason that I am looking at it. Second, I currently shave with ATT R1 and S1, The Mongoose, and a Mergress. I assume that you have probably also shaved with those 4 razors and I would appreciate your opinion and comparison of those 4 to the OneBlade. BTW, I am 78 yo, will be 79 this April and have been wet shaving since I was a teenager. I will probably end up buying a OneBlade, just because it's "out there" and I will have to experience it as well! Nice chatting with you and thank you for your candid reviews! P.S. I'm retired, don't do taxes anymore so you will have to find yourself another CPA!

It's about the hobby and trying anything that appeals to me. I have disposable income because I listen to my accountant, most of the time, but sometimes not!

The angle of the head looks like the best angle for a straight razor shave and someone built it into a safety razor. Yeah, Curiousity!
I have a Mongoose. But not any of the others, they aren't appealing.
The Mongoose is my go to safety razor, and my open comb Wolfman.
The Mongoose takes a little more focus than the OneBlade.
The shaves are comparable when you dial them in. But, like the posts on the other forum B&B you have read. It's not a complicated shave. The OneBlade is an easy shave, no thought involved, but does gives a great shave. A very great DFS on the first pass and near BBS on the second. ATG on the third pass and I don't feel a whisker until late afternoon. I shave around 5:30 or 6am every morning.
By the way, I like the banter as you can tell. No prob with any of our posts. I take nothing personal! And, I mean no harm!
    So, ask me any questions!

Thanks for your reply, Scareface! I just got my Mongoose last week, and I have only one shave with it so far (will do another tomorrow), and I do like it! I just replaced the Mongoose handle with the ATT Colossum, my favorite handle and also have it on my ATT R1 & S1. I am surprised that you have not tried the ATT's! They also make very high quality products and are currently working on a SE razor which should be out this summer. I am trying to get a Wolfman, but in talking with James, he states that he is still working on back orders and will let me know when he starts taking new orders. The fact that the OneBlade is an "easy shave" bothers me somewhat, as I used to do straights and unlike you, I am retired and a widower, so I do not have to do "quick, easy shaves", and I like to "make a production" out of my shaves and like to be "involved" in my shaving techniques. I'm afraid that the OneBlade would not give me the "challenge" that I really enjoy. I do, however, appreciate quality and OneBlade, from what I hear and read is a quality product. I also have disposable income (followed my CPA's advice), so the cost is not a problem. Decisions, decisions, decisions . . . . !

It's kind of weird! You take out the OneBlade and know it's going to be an unceremonious shave. BUT, you are stunned by this incredible shave. It kind of leaves you perplexed that this shave came from something simple.
It messes with your brain a little. Later on in the day when your face feels fresh and smooth you laugh how easy it was and feel slightly gratified that you kind of beat the system.
It also leaves you to drown yourself into the other parts of the shave, preshave, lather and post shave.

Sorry if it's adding to your desicion dilemma!
For the accountant side of your brain:
120 blades for only $90. So you don't have to get on the blade shipment program.

So these are the same type of Feather SE blades that fit the Mongoose ? ( I'm proving that there are stupid questions)

Have you tried the Feather Professional SE blades ? Are these about the same in sharpness/smoothness ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Jimmy, I do NOT believe that they are the same Feather Professional SE blades that are used in the Mongoose. Scareface, please confirm my statement.
