First Time Shaving with SR with Success at 58, a Weird Story
Hello folks, I think my story is kinda funny, I've tried first SR of my father and grandfather's coupla times when I was real young, all were horrible experiments, it was like I am holding the blade with my bare hands, several tries hurt my face a lot and I gave up.
Lurking in the internet I read Merkur Progress was a smooth shaver with exposing smaller angle than Futur, without asking anyone in the forum I've pulled the trigger and ordered a Progress 570.
It arrived hours ago, I've placed a Feather Hi-Stainless (Black plastic box) razor, then checked visually, and yes this old technology razor placed the blade enevenly as I expected. I've loosen the top cap, tightened again and all set. I lathered up with Edwin&Jagger Sandalwood soap.
There comes the weird part. I've set the razor to dial 1.5, wow it hurt again, then I went ahaed and I turned the bottom dial to zero, as owners know the triangle carved plate sit on the very bottom plate of the razor, no gaps in between at all. I wasn't sure if razor would work this way, and guess what, it worked like a charm, I can confidently say just one pass with some corrections here and there turned not only my cheeks but also chin, below the chin, neck areas ta baby bottom. I just can't believe that. I've tried another pass in a small area on my left cheek, no change. It shave purrfectly in the first and only pass.
No cuts, no nicks, no hurts, no burns, nothing at all.
Not even a sensitivity on the tip of my chin as it used to happened with Gilllette Pro-Glide.
Now wondering if this is the Feather blade's magic or not, I will try another brand razor in coupla days and let you know.
I am so happy folks and thanks for reading this , I can answer if you have any questions, suggestions, additional info please say it..
Best wishes to all.Last edited by cbaytan; 10-03-2016 at 04:55 PM. Reason: typo
