    Default 1940's Super Speed

So last weekend I had a blast at an antique flea market. Outside 70+ degrees my dad and son joined me for the excursion.
As we are walking along I glance at a table and spy a Gillette. I stop pick it up it's fairly clean and has $1 sticker on it. Sold! It opens smooth is nice and shinny and I'm excited to use it. Next up is a 62' tto adjustable. Thanks for looking fellas.

Great shavers. That looks like a '49 or a '50 based on the raised portion in the center of the base plate where the head attaches to the handle. On the '48 there is no raised circle, but it is sort of milled out. The '47 doesn't have the notches to pull the blade safely out of the dispenser. Enjoy the shave !

Nice clean classic industrial design too besides being excellent shavers.

Very nice info Jimmy thanks Sir. I never noticed the notches for blade pulling until today I saw an advertisement that shows this happening. Pretty neat idea. I believe tomorrow will be the test run on this ol gal

I agree Bob I like the industrial look to it, just simple, plain even but still attractive

Nice find, and for an excellent price! Kind of reminds me of my British Rocket.

This is the DE I have in the stand.
Seldom used - but always a great shave when pressed in to service...

I'm pretty excited to try this one next. Used the adjustable I got the same day for today's shave and just wasn't impressed sadly. I think I'll like the slim though.
