    Default Gillette adjustable tto

Another from the antique deal. Cleaned up well aside from a small nick in the one bar. Nice positive clicks and opens/closes smooth. Think the numbers need a bit of paint in them but all in its a user.
If I'm not mistaken it's a 62 slim. H2 code on bottom. Might be wrong on the model.

Nice one and it does look like a slim to me too.

Honestly wasn't a fan. I'm gonna give it a few more tries but first impression after trying a few different settings I just didn't care for it.

Fair enough, I have never used a vintage adjustable.

I have a 3 piece gillette I love and thought this would be interesting but it felt as though it wanted to stick to my face. Almost bulky, like I say I'm gonna give it a few shaved and if I don't like it she may move on.

Yes, most adjustable have bulky heads but I have never encountered the feeling that my Gillette Fat Boy wanted to stick to my face. Possibly try lowering the handle just a bit and see if that cures the sticky feeling.

Thanks for the advice I'm definitely going to give it a fair shake.

It can depend on the design of the head at what angle they like to shave at. Another thing to do is place the razor head flat on your face with the handle parallel to the floor and the slowly lower the handle till you just feel the blade on your face. Try that with your 3 piece and the adjustable to see if there is a difference between the two in that regard.

It's definitely a Slim from 1962, 2nd quarter. I have one from '65 that I use from time to time. Once I figured out the right setting for me (turns out it's 7) it has given me some really nice shaves. I started out at 5 and felt like I wasn't even shaving, so I cranked it up to 9. That was a little too aggressive. The funny thing is that now, even though it shaves well at 7, what's the point of the adjustable. I never switch it to anything else. Still, if it was good enough for James Bond, why not?
