Thanked: 580Wow, that is fast delivery. Much quicker than mine.
Well I haven't tried a synthetic brush yet, but have had good results from all but a few vintage soaps. The scent is gone, but the lather remains...
My son gave me a tube of Speick shave cream, reckons it's the bees knees. Will try tomorrow with the Qshave clone.Into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown ~ Jim Morrison

Thanked: 26Well if it helps, i only have 3 DE razors, one of these Chinese Futur clones, a cheapo Jagen David B40 from amazon (which i bought to travel with) and a Edwin Jagger DE89. All are around the same price range give or take 5 money units, personally, my preference is the Edwin Jagger, for one, its just made really nice and i find it nice and easy in tight spots like under the nose.

So as per this forum post, i bought a Q-Shave Merkur clone. I then compared it with a friends original Merkur, build and weight had some slight differences, the Qshave being lighter in the handle, slight size and shape differences in the head. hardly noticable. Both were easy to pop the blade out for replacing, the original Merkur was significantly harder to adjust for depth, but chances are it just needed cleaning and oiling. Also, like has been said before, the satin coating on the clone had some imperfections.
As for shaving, its my first time using a De razor, but it certainly was an enjoyable experience. Shaved well, 3 pass shave. Tried different depths on different passes, all in all it went rather smoothly, no issues at all. Seeing as its my first De shave i think it went very well. I used the blades that came with it.
Overall, its a good razor for the $14US i paid for it. Only way im going to regret buying it, is if the satin coating wouldnt last and i would run into rust problems early on.
Thanks for the review, Grazor!
