I stumbled into the DE forum a few years ago after using a straight or 2 blade cartridge for years & years. I cut myself to ribbons 50+ years ago when I first tried a DE but decided to try it again. I've tried 5 or 6 DE's now and I find the Merkur slant or the R41 to be the way to go. Someone in the forum suggested using the razor to lightly wipe off the lather: NO PRESSURE. Hate to be a heretic, but I think the shaves are better than the shaves I get with my straights.
