Two in a Row with my Muhle R41
Great shaves yesterday and today with my Muhle R41, a Feather blade and Pre de Provence No.63 shave soap and aftershave balm! I love the razor and the scent, and the soap lathers pretty well too!
More important, my wife loves the scent!
Just call me Harold

I’m going to use the exact same set up tomorrow. Literally. Well With the exception that I got the rose gold handle.
I really like the 63 as well. Have you tried the cream? Wow!! What a weird experience. It’s a non lathering cream that leaves your face feeling dry. Not as in cracked/no rain dry - but like not wet dry, but still a lovely kind of soft. I personally love the stuff, but it is not like anything I’ve ever used before. I leave it in the shower for those, “panic” shaves.David

As for the 41, I love that thing too. I feed it Personna Reds. The Feathers were just a bit too keen in mine. Particularly on that first shave. You really do have an iron disposition don’t you lol.
It’s a great head and the only DE I use anymore.David

I would like one, I think. I have several DE's and all seem mild to me.
Shaving with a straight mostly, I am used to backing-off and changing angles.
An aggressive one with the Personnas sounds good.
If I use the feathers in a less aggressive one, it is hard to judge where that 'point' is until I am past it!
I still don't use them enough to justify buying a 41, though.
Perhaps someday...

I can’t remember why I bought mine anymore Sharpton. And I’m not going to lie, I kind of thought it was going to be a waist in that I figured when I moved back to my primary residence I’d never use it again. But that’s proven to be incorrect. Because it’s such a great shaver, it’s now a part of my rotation. Nothing does my neck like my 41.

Thanked: 3225There are at least 2 versions of the Muhle R41 that I have read about. They are the 2011 and 2013 versions with the 2011 being the more aggressive of the two. Not that the 2013 version is mild either. I believe mine is a 2013 version and with a feather blade you can get a humdinger of a close shave if you mind your Ps and Qs. Anyone that can comfortably use a Muhle R41, either version, really does have the touch. I really think the only way you can get as close and long lasting a shave as with a straight razor is with an aggressive DE like the Muhle R41.
