Yea if you go really slow and really with a light touch you are ok but with the time it takes I may just as well use a straight.

There are other DEs that (these days) shave about as good as the R41 without it's orneriness.
This DE really is polarizing I find. All I know is, I’m slowly giving all my other DEs to friends because I find this one so efficient/comfortable.

Here I am duplicating another mans shave of the day lol!

Sharp, I held off for a long time because ultimately I’m really a straight guy, but I’m sorry I did. I honestly love the shave I get from mine now that I’m feeding it Personnas (I didn’t like Feathers in it which is odd - they used to be my go-to).

That puts me squarely in the, “You haven’t got one yet? What are you waiting for!?” camp. But it seems there’s as large a group that says, “Save your face and save some money!”

I recommend you try it, and I bet @haroldg48 will say the same thing on his next visit .

Maggard carries the head only just add a handle you already have. It is the same thread as the Gillette handles.

I guess I should try one,, but my Fatboy with a feather gives me a great shave at 9, now I do have over 40 years using that razor so I got real comfortable with it, ill take Bobs word for it and stick with it then. Tc

A seed has been planted in Tc's head!

On the fatboy, I have tried several butterfly DE's and really prefer the 3 piece ones.
Cannot say what it is. A bit bulky? I dunno.
    I rarely use the DE's.
