Shaving surprises
You never know when you'll get a pleasant surprise when shaving. Yesterday I pulled out my Gillette Slim Adjustable, which is one of the first razors I ever bought and shaved with, lathered up, put in a Personna blade, set the Gillette on "5" and got one of the most pleasant and closest DE shaves I've had in a while in 1 1/2 passes.
To be fair this was not my original razor, but one I picked up on a certain auction site for about 10x what I paid in 1964. Still, it was a nice trip down memory lane!Just call me Harold

My 1st DE was a Slim that my dad had owned. I got it after he passed -- to see if I liked it. Its been a while since I've used it, but took it with me on vacation this year. I'd forgotten how good it shaves. Set it on 7 and went to town.

got mine out a month or so ago(kind of reluctantly) after about 5 years of just straights. Seemed a lot better than i remember, i think using a straight has helped me know what a proper angle feels like.

My first DE was issued in boot camp yea so many years back. Went back to Schick when I went to my first duty station
That said, The slim is a good shaver on #5 with a Feather blade..
