Default What blades would you recommend in the r41?

Haven’t used my leaf razor yet (only received it a couple of days ago) From my bro who very kindly and generously gifted it to me along with the Muhle R41 to get me up and running. Already got some Astra green blades. And some Gillette Nacets and Feather New Hi-Stainless on the way to me... been recommended Personna (Lab Blue, Med Prep, Platinum) Perma Sharp, and Gillette Rubie and Super Thins to use in it.

I think Gillette Nacets is the best head shaver for me all the way as they work well in all my de razors which I have 40 plus.

Any others anyone would recommend that work well with it and what works best for some of you?
    Thanks in advance!

An Older R41 was a monster of a DE. Very Aggressive. I've been looking for an older one for years but no luck. They were nick-named Bloodthirsty! But it was changed after 2014 I think.
Anyway, I like the Gillette Silver blue blades. But it's all preference. You're going to go through a lot of blades testing to find to ones best for you. Personna and the 7 o'clock blades are tops too if I remember right, way back when.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

I have the original R 41 and simply don't use it anymore. There are way more razors out there that shave equally well but lack the aggressiveness.

If I was going to consider using it again I'd rather use a straight frankly. However with that razor Id use the mildest blades I could find like derbys or similar.

As Gasman said, if your razor was made after 2014 it is milder than the original. I have the 2014 version and iirc Gillette Silver Blues were good in it. Feathers were very sharp but harsh. I haven't tried Nacets but hear very good things about then and would be tempted to try those.

Yes, I have a 41, Doesn't get used much though. My favorite now is Timeless titanium. 95 open comb, lovely smooth razor
