Default Gillette prison/psycho razors and key .......

    .
    .
Finally! I have found both the razors and the key to unlock them. I had put them in separate places.
It took me 3 days of looking to get them together again!
The key is inserted into the bottom of the handle then turned to the left to remove the razor's head. Then a new blade can be inserted.
At least it was an attempt to keep the prisoners from slicing each other's throat.

OMG - I never knew such razors existed!

In retrospect, they make sense. How did you ever get your hands on them or, maybe I should ask your lawyer?

That is really interesting. Thanks for posting! Links to any additional information or research?
And did you buy this or keep it as a souvenir?

I just showed that to my daughter. She is in nursing school. That would make for an interesting discussion when they do clinicals in psych ward.
I too am interested in the date codes.

Very similar to my Gillette Big Fellow in operation I think except the "key" part stays in the handle. I like that better than the traditional 3 peice style as it seems less figgitty when changing the blade.
