Thanked: 81I have one of these razors (I don’t remember what model, F maybe?), and struggle to get good shaves with it, but my experience is very different from the OP. From the SE forum I knew about the shaving angle (or lack of), and of course use no pressure. The results were consistently incredibly close shaves but with horrible irritation that prevented me from shaving again for almost a week. I tried maybe 8 times before giving up. I still don’t know what the problem is.

I don't have a Schick but i do have a couple of DE's, a Parker OC and a Rockwell 6c on #6. Actually I have another in a plastic case with a little mirror but I don't use it because it's in my packed Dopp Kit.
When I use a DE I put in a new blade in (Nacet) and keep using it until the blade is finished, usually about 10 shaves because I have soft whiskers not manly man copper wire.
You mentioned that you have your safety razors in your rotation, I hadn't thought of that so today I put new blades in both and added them. I usually put a Q-tip on the counter each time I use my De so I know how many shaves I've had with the blade but I won't be able to do that now they're in my rotation. Doesn't matter really I suppose because I will know when it's new blade time eh.- - Steve
You never realize what you have until it's gone -- Toilet paper is a good example

Not sure why your not getting a close shave. And i dont think the pella blades will make a differance as to ke they act just like the schick blade. But i could be wrong. I get great close shaves with injectors. Id recommend looking for an E model as they are more agressive. The one you have is a mild razor so maybe you just need more bite.
Hope you get it figured as i cant imagine not being able to use injectors. I use many different razors and blades. I find it more fun learning them all and being able to shave with any type of razor. It's just Sharpening, right?

Absolutely, and thank you. I agree 100 percent that I want to figure this out. The fun of learning a new skill with a new razor is one of the joys of wet shaving to me. That was the primary reason for starting this tread. I really want to learn to use an Injector correctly and efficiently. It's a new skill to me. And that's the fun of it. I did this a few years ago with learning to use the Feather ProGuard series. I am not a fan of regular shavettes, but with some learning, I learned to make the Feather ProGuard work just dandy for me.
You are probably correct that the Pella blades will not make much of a difference. But I have heard that they are wonderful blades, so I'll use them regardless. It is probably either the blade reveal (agressive factor) that is givig me a mediocre shave at this point. I have tried different angles of attack. I did not know that my particular razor was a milder blade reveal design. My best DE BBS shaves are with a moderate blade reveal (like the Jagger DE89 or the Merkur 34c) BUT with a Feather blade. If I use a standard moderate blade like a Voskhod, I really have to work on a BBS shave.Last edited by ZipZop; 07-10-2022 at 09:22 AM.
