I believe that is a very mild razor. IMO a mild razor needs a blade that is sharp. Somewhere near the top of the sharp list. I'd recommend the Wisamet blade or for another name to try would be Nacet.
Depending on how long you have been wet shaving with a DE is going to make a big difference in how a razor or blade acts.
The Gillette Sainless (green) is a more mild blade. Depending on if you are using the new or old Gillette Platinum blades as I find white with blue and silver package to be a no go for me. But the new blue with white is a step down from the Nacet but a decent blade.
Another to try is Gillette perma sharp. But no mater which of these you try be sure your using the best experience you have. These are sharp and with a good hand and stretching of the skin they will glide across your ATG pass.
I find these to be smooth comfortable blades.
As said above and as if you have been around a while you have heard YMMV. It's true. As what works for one won't work for another. Experience has a lot to do with it.
Good luck and keep us informed. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 3228How long have you been shaving solely with a DE and is that a daily thing? The reason I ask is that experience counts towards having good technique. You are having the same problem in the same area with two different blade brands. To me that just might mean your technique is the problem and not the equipment. OTH try other blade brands and if the same problem persists it, is your technique.

I wouldn't shave against the grain with a straight for a long time because no matter what safety razor I used it gave me a rash going AGT. Now I go against every shave with a straight with no problem. What I did learn along the way though was that a sharper blade with lighter pressure with a straight gives me less irritation and that also translated to a DE although perhaps to a lesser extent.
I see you've been at this for a while so I wouldn't presume to lecture you. Just from personal experience I can say that for years I blamed a lot on the equipment that was at least partially more because of my technique.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17
