    Default Ordered me a Rolls...

Won two Rolls Razors off of fleabay yesterday. Total cost of $39.00 for both (including shipping).

Can't wait 'til they get here so I can clean 'em, hone 'em, strop 'em and shave with them.

If they work out as well as I have read, I just might completely retire my DE's.

I'll still use my str8's daily though.

    Default Shaved with a Rolls

Got one of the Rolls razors in and cleaned it up. Everything is in fine working order. I chose to clean up the razor edge on my Norton 4k/8k with a final few passes on the hone that was in the Rolls.

After 30 passes on the Rolls strop, I took this razor out for a test shave and got a BBS first time out!

Looks like the Rolls may be a perfect travel razor or for use when I need a "quick" shave and don't have time to really relax and pamper myself with one of my old standby str8s.

I have three Rolls, all in great condition and I didn't pay more than £6 for any of them.

I honed them up on the built in mechanism (if I'd gone near my Norton they'd be useless now. Not too god at honing yet!) Took a few returns to the hone but once there, they give a brilliant shave.

After all, they are simply a piece of straight on a handle.

Mine get used regularly and are a great piece of kit. Who can resist that wonderful stainless steel box? A work of art!

I agree, they are a work of art.

They also must have been very popular. Now that the Rolls has sparked my interest, I see them all over the place.

Although eBay seems to be the place to get the best deals. The ones I have seen at the local shops have all been priced at about $30.

I have purchased 3 on eBay just to use as spare parts, usually there is something missing or damaged. They cost me more in shipping than they actually cost to buy.
