Hi Rich,
Thanks for jogging my memory about the Walgreens 'house' blades. Some stores will carry the ones that say 'Made in Israel' on the back. It's a little sticker that's been applied, and these are supposed to be the same as the IP (Israeli Personna), which has a very good reputation. Oy, who knew?Last edited by De Layne; 08-29-2008 at 10:36 PM.

Thanks everyone!
Glen, I can't believe you got that for yourself (if that is the case). If so, never talk to me again... until maybe you give it up and just let your wife use it- if she even will.

Thanked: 3795I did not have the best of luck with this place. My order was delayed for two months with no communication or explanation despite repeated inquiries. When he did finally respond, he gave no explanation but told me he would make it up to me by sending along extra blades with my razor order. The razor finally showed up but the extra blades never did.
Hopefully, your experience will be different, but I'd pick ebay over this guy, and I don't like ebay.

Thanked: 13245What can I say Alex it was sitting there next to a whole mess of chipped up straights, it was $4 and looked brand new....
I had this great thought that she might use it, never, ever, try and think what a woman might do

Derbys are an excellent DE blade, maybe the very best blade for a mild, but still very effective shave. Out of about 10 brands I've tried, my favorites are: Derbys on the mild side, Feather when I'm on my game, and Israeli Personna is kind of in-between. Not quite as forgiving as Derby, but not quite as scary sharp as Feather.

I love Derby blades. I've bought a few times from dssokey on eBay. Usually $19.99 per 100 blades, though there's a set for $9.99 up right now if you've got a quick trigger finger.
Feather blades are nice, but with wicked sharp comes unforgiving.
I don't really care for Merkur blades, but that's just me.Last edited by sensei_kyle; 09-01-2008 at 06:12 PM.

+1 on the feathers except...
I recently aquired a Fat boy from another generous member here and it has tamed the mighty feather! I use a setting of 4 and I'm getting very close and comfortable shaves with no visible scarring, bleeders or weepers. It's a super efficient combination for me!
Don't fear the feather! They are a wonderful product!

Alex, I have a ton of Derby Extra blades. I could easily send you a few packs. It's the least I could do.
