That looks like a old, but anyway open comb razors are a little agressive so remember NO PRESSURE. If you wanna save NOW Walgreen and CVS have Persona blades you can try, or walmart has Wilkerson. Then you can order many brands on the net, Feathers are just to sharp starting out IMO.

Thanked: 485It's very subjective, but Astra blades are very nice...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

The razor looks like an OLD type. If it is, do not tighten the handle too much as you will crack it. Also, I have 2 of them and like them a lot. I would not shim this razor. It is designed to present the blade at a certain angle to your face. I would not mess with it until you become an experienced DE shaver. What blade will work best for you in this razor is a personal choice. I use Feather blades. I don't find them rough and they are one of only a few blades that cut my beard without pulling and tugging. I had mine re-plated and will post some pictures when I get them back. Get the sample pack and decide for yourself. Good luck.
If you could take a picture of the head, together and apart it will be easier to identify. Actually, it may be a NEW type. Hard to tell from the photo.Last edited by matloffm; 12-12-2012 at 03:35 AM.

Thanked: 18I would also suggest getting a sampler pack. My personal favorites are Derby blades. Also I find Astra's (green package) to be very good, but remember YMMV!
