Default Just bought superspeed And derby blades

I am new to de and have been reading the recomended razors for newbies. I just purchased a 1949 superspeed and derby super steel blades. Is there any special angle to use these razors? I currently use a straight but looking for razor for those rush days. Any input is appreciated as I am completely new to de! Thanks!

Another quick question, are there any de shaving videos posted? I didn't see any. I think that would be helpful to us newbies!

I have a superspeed of about that vintage. It is a very easy razor to shave with. Very mild on the face, even with feather blades. I noticed on another thread that you are using a Japanese style Feather straight. Compared to that, the Superspeed won't even feel like it has a blade in it.

I think there are a bunch of DE videos on youtube.

I've got a SS and I also use Derby blades (on the rare occasions that I use the SS). I only use the SS when I'm in a hurry, so it's usually just a face wash and hot water for the shave. I don't really pay attention to the blade angle or anything; I just keep the pressure as light as possible and go at it. I also only go WTG to look presentable. Maybe not the best way to use a DE, but it gets the job done with no cuts or irritation (and I have rather sensitive skin, too). Must be a very forgiving combo...

wow just shaved with my new/old superspeed! went very well, used the gillette thin blade that came with it and got a great shave! very happy with my purchase. I can see the addiction comming as I already want a fat boy and to try the edwin jagger 89 as I hear so much good about them.
