Being of African descent has nothing to do with having a straight line on a beard. As a matter of style preference some African American (and people of other cultures as well but most popularly in the African American) people have what is referred to as a "line up" where not only the beard is outlined with very crisp edges but the hairline as well. Generally Caucasians never have a hard line outlining the the hairline around the face but it is common in the nape area of the neck.
I find this topic very informative because 99% of what I do everyday is based on African American hair and skin and myself being Caucasian with my hair and skin type the way it is can be hard to understand what would work best for what I am doing, while keeping the safety comfort and happiness of my clientele at the forefront of my mind.
Some of the people I go to school with cant shave at all without bumping up really badly I was wondering what your thoughts and experiences if any were with shaving with cold water if it helped in any way.
great responses everybody just one of many great learning experiences for me here at SRP. Keep em coming.Last edited by detroyt; 03-21-2010 at 05:05 AM.
