Gnarly scar . . .
Gentlemen:
I am fortunate enough that, aside from a rare tiny nick, I have managed to get away without major cuts with the double edge. The straight razor as well. I am humble before a double edge as I am with the straight. Maybe that's why.
Regards,
Obie

Never scarred myself while shaving, but I did knick myself a LOT more often with a DE than I do now with straight razors.

Can't say that I have...
But of course I've always been very careful with sharp things. I heard too many stories as a child from my father, who was an M.D. and surgeon, about people he had to sew up who weren't."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Thanked: 1195Like Obie, I haven't had any major lacerations with any of my DE's...... actually, nothing more than a couple of weepers, which is a rare occurrence. This is all a bit surprising for me, as I tried straight shaving first and totally skipped the DE stage; I was far too scared of DE's to start with them

Thanked: 10I remember shaving with dads DE when i was about 10, I lathered up and took it off just like dad did.. Mom and dad wondered where all the scratches on my face came from.. I hadn't even noticed...of course there was no hair to cut. They got a good laugh about it, and i've not tried one since (more than 40yrs now) , I have jumped from modern to str8 now however.

Thanked: 6Unfortunately, yes
On my third all time de shave I cut myself on the far left side of my neck. I now have a 3/4 inch scar (it will probably be visible for quite a while). It poured quite a bit of blood as well. I simply reverted to my old ways of shaving with a cartridge razor and got lazy. Won't make that mistake again.

Not from a DE safety razor but I did get a whole necks worth from a Plastic cartridge safety razor before I knew about DEs. Good lord was it bad. It looked like I slid on blacktop using my face and neck as a break!.

I've never done more than nick myself with a DE occasionally.

My deepest cut was on my finger. Only minor nicks on my face. So far.
