Thanked: 0Hair coming in different directions..
Hi all. So I've always been clean shaving with triple or doubled edge gillette blades for 2 years now. Now I've started growing my beard and keeping stuff like chinstraps or a beard. The thing is though my hair growth on the right side of my face from the side of my chin (jawline) to almost the earlobe grows towards my ear. This area on the left side of my face grows down. Is there any way I can fix this to make the jawline hair on my left side also grow towards my earlobe?

Thanked: 14I don't play a doc on t.v.
Why do you want to change the direction of your hair growth? If you shave multiple directions, e.g ATG, WTG, do you eventually shave all the hairs? I would guess, and that is all that it is, that you will be unable to change the hair direction without surgery.

Thanked: 1195Beard growth is determined entirely by genetics. If we could alter the direction of growth there would be far fewer questions in both the Beginners and Shaving with Straight Razors sections.
I do find it strange that the OP asked a question on growing facial hair..... on a shaving forum To each their own I suppose

Thanked: 0I want to change the direction of growth because I want to keep beards from now on.
And its just weird because on one side of my face the hair growth is different from the other side and its really noticeable when I have hair growing. i always thought it was different on my left side because I shaved from north to south on my left side and on my right side east to west.

seems like the only solution might be the "clean shaven" look... BWTHDIK? I might be a little biased

this is nonsense.. who wants a beard? are you hemingway or aristotle? if the anwer is no.. you don't need a beard.. shave that badboy off and let the world have a look at that perfect mug.

Thanked: 0^Lol
It only looks messed up like 4-7 days after I have clean shaven and when it is starting to grow back. Can't I just shave from left to right on my jawline on the left side of my face to have it grow towards that side?

ok.. honestly.. map out your hair growth and shave with the grain.. whichever that direction may be.. then.. go across the grain if your feeling like you want a closer shave.. just feel it out and take it slow.. the results are worth the effort..
and if you really are feeling it.. against the grain.

Thanked: 66I agree with Ryan..your facial hair is genetic..but skin type can also differ from one parent to the other...how fast it grows in could be improved by a straight razor keeping your hair away for maybe half a day though..but hard to tell as no 2 faces r alike! ;-)
