Injector blades
I consider injector blades to be a type of single edge blade. Why do you all consider them to be a different type? I can get single edge blades for twenty cents each but would have to pay $1.85 each for the injector blades. Do they really warrant that much of a premium?

Injector blades are clearly single edge blades of a certain configuration so there is sort of a limited range of what will work. Schick blades, microtome blades and shortened Feather AC blades are examples of some blades that will work in an injector razor.
I guess I don't understand your question about why "we all consider them to be a different type?" Are you asking about the price differential between these various types of blades? Is the question along the lines of what makes a NOS Schick blade sell for more than a bulk purchased microtome blade?

Injector blades are more expensive, that's just the way it is. I like the schick yellow ones from china.

Thanked: 3Ted Pellas are actually a little bit cheaper than Schick brand blades. I think the high cost is a matter of supply and demand. If more people used injectors, then they would produce more at a time possibly making them cheaper.

jbcohen,
In the UK, the prices (from Connaught Shaving) are quite reasonable for largish buys of Personna Injector blades. When bought in 200s, they work out at around 0.15 GBP (ca 0.23 USD) each, which is comprable to the price we pay for quality DE blades. GEM SE blades, when bought in 400s work out to be around 0.12 GBP (ca 0.19 USD).
For me, I find the Personna Injector & GEM SE blades last for a couple more shaves than conventional DE blades, so the bang for the buck is about the same.
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
