    Default TOBS in eye= PAIN

I learned a valuable lesson today,

Do NOT get Taylors of Old Bond Street sandalwood shave cream in your eye when lathering. The burn stays with you all day long along with the refreshing scent. I thought tooth paste was bad. This took pain to a whole new invigorating experience.

Anyone else get a real doozy from TOBS or other shave soaps? Just one of those lessons I needed to learn I think.

    <<-- thats me after shaving.

I guess the question that really comes out of this for me is how did you get toothpaste in your eye..?

Lather I can understand, some might splash up, but the toothpaste has me flummoxed.

But yes, getting soap in your eye is always painful. It brings back memories of getting shampoo in my eye when I was a kid!

Funny how senses are working. Lather in ear doesn't seem to affect hearing. Or seeing.

I learned two hings from this thread:

    1. Tooth paste and Taylors stings when placed into the eye.

    2. Flummox, –verb (used with object) Informal . to bewilder; confound; confuse.

I never got toothpaste in the eye, but my wife once brushed her teeth with Icy Hot... She discovered the error pretty quickly!

I think every soap I have gotten in the eye has burned to some degree, but I never recall any being a big deal... But, I come from the generation when our heads got washed with soap in the bathtub, no baby shampoo, sop soap in the eyes was just another thing to be dealt with... kinda like the dose of Cod Liver Oil every morning.... What a taste to leave in one's mouth after bacon and eggs before school!

And we wondered why we had to chase the girls on the playground!!

Toothpaste yes I have gotten in my eye. Strangely my vision wasnt minty fresh afterwards. For some reason the bristles on my cheap-as-hell CVS boar hair brush flicked at me when I was swishing in the soap tub with it. Of course, not having my glasses on didnt help either. No matter what the outcome of that, I still got my good shave so its not a total loss

No worries! I havent gotten cleaning agents in my eye in years either but that whole situation was just a big facepalm for that situation. Never pays to be in a rush.
