Thanked: 3I always found the Feather blade to be too sharp for myself. I would try a different blade. I also agree that the setting is too aggressive and also check your angle and light pressure.
I may get a weeper once in a while and normally caused by an imperfection on the skin.

My story was similar. Was in a hurry so thought just use the DE with Feather blade. Lost a lot of blood.... Nearly removed one mole. Let my face heal a few days and tried again out of stubborness, and results were nearly as bad.
I think I have been spoiled by the straight razors.

Chefdude,
Much wise advice from my brothers of the blade. But seriously, a new feather on a 7 setting is seriously aggressive! So, Arrowhead is the guy, huh?
When I want a BBS shave and time is a consideration, I make a WTG pass with my Merkur Slant w/Israeli Personna and ATG and touch-up with (don't laugh) my Mom's Lady Gillette (like a 2-3 setting but fixed exposure) and a Feather. Fast, efficient and painless. A similar approach might work for you.Last edited by oldschooltools; 12-18-2010 at 08:03 AM. Reason: misspell

Thanked: 14I've been in the same situation - pressed for time and needing to get it done. I didn't feel like I rushed the shave but in retrospect, I believe I did and ended up with weepers. Ordinarily, I do not need the styptic when shaving with a DE.
