Super Iridium Blades
Ladies and gentlemen:
Do you have knowledge on the status of the Super Iridium blades? I have heard 37 different stories about why the blades are scarce. Suddenly no one has them. I take that back: I saw somewhere on eBay a 100 count for some $55. Oh, please, that's absurd. Talk about gouging.
These are excellent blades, a notch below the Feather, I would say. I am down to my last two Super Iridium blades, although I will never pay an absurd amount of money to get them, even if they were gold plated — which would make them a lousy shave, probably. Anyway, it's good to know what's going on. Thanks.
Regards,

Super Iridium Blades
Hello, Stuart:
The Super Iridium blades, as I understand, are made in Russia by the same manufacturer that makes other quality blades. I don't know that much about their production, or who makes them — a subsidiary of Proctor and Gamble, I don't know — but they are good blades. As I noted in my initial post, I put them a notch below the Feather in overall quality and sharpness. I am sure one of our experts will come up with some good answers.
By the way, my friend, have a pint for me in London.
Regards,
Obie

West Coast Shaving lists them as 100 blades for around $34.00.
I thought they were made by Gillette in Russia. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Super Iridium Blades
Hello, thebigspendur:
Yes, West Coast Shaving lists them for $34.00, which I think is reasonable, but they are out of stock and not sure if they will receive a new supply, unless I misunderstand them. This is as of yesterday, when I checked the West Coast Shaving site.
I believe Gillette makes them, yes. Isn't Gillette owned by Proctor and Gamble? I think it is. Maybe? I don't who owns whom anymore.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 1195Obie,
Yes, I agree that Iridiums are a great blade, and until you mentioned it I hadn't really realized that they have indeed disappeared. Rasage Poulin, until recently, stocked them but they I haven't seen them lately. Which is too bad for me, since RP is a local Canadian suppler
I have not bothered to investigate further, but now my curiosity is piqued. Unfortunately we have have to look to "the other forum" to find the answer.
