Screw break off DE?!
This DE is brand new, only used 3 times.
When I screw the handle on, after changing the blade, the metal cylinder broke off!
I was very surpriced, I didnt use alot of force.
This was a 100 US $ razor, and I am very disappointed.
Hopefully I will get a new from the vendor.
Have you guys seen this before?

Thanked: 50Hi, I haven't used a DE myself. But this looks like a bad weld(it is not even), most likely an error in production, your warranty should cover this.
I'm sorry for you temporary loss of that gorgeous DE.

Screw break off DE
Hello, The_Pastor:
That is lamentable. I have never seen the screw break in the shave head, especially in an Edwin Jagger razor. Yours obviously is defective. Yes, do return it for refund.
Go to the English Shaving Company for a wide range of Edwin Jagger razors, including the "Chatsworth" series. You might want to try the one with the mock ivory handle — it's a beauty.
Well, my friend, this is just a mild setback. Try another Edwin Jagger, and keep us apprised.
Regards,
Obie

Seems to be a manufacturing defect. I don't think you could screw it so tight as to break it off unless you were a Gorilla. Send it back for an exchange.

The vendor said that she had never seen this before. She talked to T&H in London, and there is already a new razor on its way to me.
They asked for the old razor in return, for inspection, and they will cover the expenses I will have shipping it.
So I am happy with the service.
Weird thing was, it didnt brake of with a "crack" like a dry branch. I just "bent off" silently, like a soft piece of candle wax.
PS: Of cause I am gorilla strong.

Hello, Victor:
Yes, I am sure the razors use the Edwin Jagger shave head. The overall design is that of the "barley" from the "Chatsworth" series. Obviously the razor is re-branded as Truefitt & Hill. It's a quality razor, as is everything else from Truefitt & Hill.
The_Pastor: Good show. I am glad you are receiving a replacement. That is a lovely razor, a keeper.

Obie
