The New iKon
Gentlemen:
Yesterday I came across photos of the newest model of the iKon stainless steel razor. It's an impressive looking razor. Also, it appears to have many similarities in design to the Pils, although the iKon's handle is knurled. It's a touch cheaper in price, I might add. I know nothing about the razor's quality and characteristics. Have you tried it yet and any thoughts on it?
Regards,
Obie

My thoughts are that before too long Obie will be reviewing the new Ikon for us.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 6looks to be a very nice razor with a resemblance to the PILS that I have fallen in love with. Also it seems as if there are only 3 more to be had.. It says only 80 made, 3 in stock.
I wouldnt mind trying one out but if I buy this one I will shoot my self in the foot and say I should have just gotten the PILS.
EDIT: Theres one on eBay now.Last edited by KidFrost; 06-28-2011 at 04:42 PM.

Hello, Jimmy:
Yes, I would love to review it, but I already have the Pils and owning the iKon might be a touch redundant, since they seem to have many similarities. I'm quite fond of the Pils, as I am of the Feather and the Edwin Jagger. I must admit, Jimmy, I have two Gillette Aristocrats from the late forties — and talk about sweet and luscious razors.
Stay well.

Hello, KidFrost:
Hold off on the Pils just a little longer. The Pils has different requirements. Right now I suggest working on angle, pressure and overall technique with the regular double edge razors. Also, the Pils weighs a ton, and that's something to be kept under consideration. I imagine the iKon would have the same requirements.

You know how those rich folks have these fancy wine cellars and whenever they have a mind to they retrieve some fine wine for consumption? Well, Obie has this secret stash room in his palatial mansion and he has one of every shaving implement and shaving prep ever made. He just brings them out every now and then to give us all a rise. Maybe next month he'll be waxing lyrically about the soap made by the Siberian Tundra dwellers made of a blend of different blubber products from indigenous creatures.

My dear thebigspendur:
Yes, yes, today, on my birthday, I am especially enjoying the treasures in my palatial mansion. I mean, you know . . .?
As for the blubber soap made by Siberian tundra dwellers, I like that. Spike mine with French lavender and mint — might as well tap Martin de Candre.
It's so fine to be rich, especially knowing that the poor are called crazy and the rich eccentric.
