Just for curiosity, try a different razor. Most can be found at flea markets, garage sales and antique stores for under $10 Might be worth it to try. Besides, you can always use and extra razor, right?

Thanked: 1195Did you previously shave with a cartridge w/ pivoting head? If yes, it can be hard to keep yourself from using that pivoting motion, and with a DE that will cause a bloody mess. When shaving with a DE it's important to use arm movement, instead of wrist movement, to maintain a constant angle during the entire stroke. Give it a try and see if there's any improvement.

Thanked: 5See if you can do a WTG shave for one day without irritation. If so, it's probably going to be your method with ATG or XTG (shaving is much more sensitive in those directions.)

Thanked: 57Get some quality blades. The cheapo's give me rash & burn and don't shave near as close. When you find the right blade, joy!

I think it could be the pressure but also your angle in the stroke. Try with other razors with closed comb like a Merkur 34C. And no pressure.

flteng,
A lot of the fellas are trying to analyze your problem, but to do it properly, what are you using for cream/soap/gel, razor and blade? We really are at a great disadvantage without that information.
Please, help us, so we can help you.Last edited by diamondtim; 08-20-2011 at 11:56 PM.

What type of razor are you using? Also what types of blades have you tried?
