The Slim is a fine shaving instrument. The settings go from 1 (juvenile peachfuzz) to 9 (aggressive). Try dialing it to 3 and work on technique first. Once you master technique, you'll be able to achieve BBS in short order. Get a blade sampler to find a current production blade that you'll like. Look at estate sales, rummage sales, antique malls and the like for vintage Gillette, Schick, Wilkinson Stainless or Personna Tungsten blades for real treat.
