My absolute favourite is an Ever-Ready SE Streamline made in the U.K. I get a BBS every time with this baby.

As for a DE, I love this 1928 Gillette Richwood - a NEW Improved, if I'm not mistaken. Again, BBS every time.

I have to change my answer from a 1930 Gillette New Deluxe Criterion to a rare find I located today for $10. It's a 1904, Gillette double-ring, PAT APL'D FOR, serial #16951 made just a few months before King Gillette received his first patent in Nov. 15, 1904 on his first razor. Pics will follow as soon as I've cleaned up the silver.

    I tried to get the 'apl'd' and 'for' in these pics to certify it's a pre-Nov 15,1904 serial #'d 1904.Name: 1904g.jpg

I don't have more than a few DE's, but I tend to prefer them for my daily head-shave about half the time

Here's my favorites among them, ranked from left to right.

    They are:

    Gillette President
    Gillette Aristocrat
    Feather Stainless
    Mühle R41

All of these are great shavers, IMHO.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I can't disagree with you, unless you are talking about Executives (gold Fatties). I have 3 Fat Boys and my favorite is a D-4 (birth year & quarter).

I only have two safety razors, a Fat Boy and an Ever-Ready 1924. No matter how I try I cannot get the Fat Boy to shave as well as the Ever-Ready. So from my very limited experience I would say the Ever-Ready is head and shoulders better for me. Just a great comfortable and very close shave from it.

My absolute favorite would have to be my Rocket HD with an aluminum handle. 2nd safety razor I ever bought. Does the best job out of any I have. Although, out of the 100 or so I have, the obviously non-vintage EJ DE89 I have runs a close second.

Currently I love my Gillette gold ball end tech. But I just picked up a tuckaway that I'll be cleaning up and trying this week. I must say I'm excited for it. Maybe even more than the genco that I'm picking up from the hone shop tomorrow!

I have over a hundred safety razors in the collection. I have to say that my Ever-Ready (or Gems) shave about the best. I like the 1912 model most.
