Default One of the best things to do with a safety razor...

Sometimes I take one of my DEs with no blade and let my son, he's 4, "shave" with me. He loves it. He has to help me make the lather, then he gets a real kick out of using the brush on his face. He is very carefull, and uses the DE to remove all the lather from his face. He always does about two or three passes, gets really excited and enjoys himself. We did this today. I used a straight that I was testing, and he used a "red tip" superspeed Gillette. It was a really nice father-son bonding moment.

When plastic and electric razors came in, a lot of people in upstate NY started using DE for fishing. Made great sinkers!

Only just saw this, great stuff! It was my lad's 7th birthday last Saturday, he chose the soap(Irisch Moos) and used his brush and shavette without a blade for a shave while I had mine. Then it was witch hazel followed by bay rum and again his choice of cologne(Truefitt & Hill Clubman) then it was off to his birthday bash. Was great to fix up and look sharp with the wee man, he loved every minute of it! All the best to you and yours, many happy shaves together in future!

Looks like I know what to get him for his birthday this year! He will flip when he gets his own shavette and brush. Thanks for the idea Omega and Sasquatch.

LOL... Doesn't get much closer than that ...
