Feather stainless DE question
I usually don't bring up issues discussed at other forums but I thought this was interesting.
Someone brought up the issue that the Feather Stainless DE is in fact Chrome plated. They said they were told this from Feather. personally I can't see a reason for this because stainless can be finished in a multitude of ways and I don't see plated as a plus, only a negative.
Anyone have the true skinny on this?No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Impossible to believe my Feather DX is plated. Were it plated it would be easy to tell. Feathers primary income,
I believe, if from their surgical scalpel lines, hundreds of scalpels from those used for micro surgeries to full size
every day scalpels. They offer two varieties of steel scalpels, stainless and full carbon steel.Bob

Thanked: 1The Feather safety razor AS-D1 is stainless steel, as is the Feather Artist Club DX, however, the Feather Artist Club RG is solid brass plated with satin finished chromium. Some of the older Feather travel safety razors may have been plated, especially considering the price. I have the Feather AS-D1 and it is certainly stainless steel. Loaded with a feather blade, gives a great shave too. I have the Feather Artist Club RG along with a pack of professional blades on order and it should arrive later this week. Looking forward to shaving with it and comparing to a regular straight razor and my safety razors (also have a "mergress" and a merkur slant that give great shaves too).
