    Default One armed shaving.

I had shoulder surgery last Friday and will not have use of my left arm for at least two weeks. I am looking for some tips on using a DE one armed. I know that I will not be able to stretch my skin properly but do you think it will still be possible to get a good shave? Or is it time to grow a beard and mow it down with a straight after I regain use of my left arm?

    Thanks,
    Marc

Sorry to hear about the injury. I hope it heals up fast and fully
As to a one handed DE shave, that would be no problems at all.
You'll have that down in the second shave
The stretching might be an issue if a BBS is what you are after, but more than adequate shave will be absolutely doable.
It sure beats looking scruffy for a fortnight IMO.

I say grow the beard. Then after you have use of both arms again use your SR to give yourself one of these.

May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

This was my experience, although you can get pretty good at hands-free face contorting.

I use a straight razor to shave, not a DE, born with one arm and have never had the ability to stretch my skin as I shave. Beard and skin preparation is very important when you can't stretch your skin, pre-shave oil, hot towel, glycerin in your lather and wetter than usual lather all help.

When I use a DE I never stretch and get great results. It probably depends on your facial characteristics. Either way you should still get a good shave.

It was a good shave today. It was also my first shave with my slim so that was fun playing with. Tomorrow will be better now that I know what to expect.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.
