Feathers for me in summary: 1st shave not so smooth, 2 and 3 perfect, 4 can tell that the blade is done, 5 too rough for my taste.

I've been loving 7'oclock yellows lately. To me they've been the same as the Feathers but are smooth on the first shave and I can get at least 5 shaves out of them. I haven't tested beyond 5 yet but now that gives me something to do!
I echo AndrewK. My wife loves the shark stainless. But I have found that the feathers don't last as long as my other blades, but they are sharp.

I go back and forth between straight and DE, and finally bought an assortment of blades so I could try some of the blades you all talk about. I started with the Feather, and while I got a perfect shave on the first try, both head and face, the blade quality dropped off quickly on subsequent shaves and I'm not impressed. I realize everyone's razor and face is different, and I'm hoping to hit a homerun with one of the blades in this assortment.

Looking forward to your long term observations.

I'm sorry...I was just figuring I didn't have to endorse any candidate...myself being a sportsmen and yourself as well, the rest should be understood. And, while I'm an attorney, my under-grad was in Poli-Sci, and I can tell you for a fact so little of our electorate actually votes that we as a nation should be embarrassed. So whenever I get a chance I always like to remind people to get out to vote. I came from a long line of people that fought for that right: from the Hansells, the Breys, the Youngs, the Baileys on down to my grandfather that survived the war in the South Pacific and his brother, my uncle Billy that survived Korea but drank himself to death in <19 years on down to my dad that served in Vietnam. So, I didn't mean anything by it...it's just that my feelings are strong and deep.

Not sure what this has to do with razors, but I always vote, thanks to your family and their service. :-)

Well it's been a few weeks and I still really like the feather blades, shich I find are good for about 8 shaves before they go bad. Of course if you don't keep them in a small jar full of isopropyl or vodka they will lose that edge in about three days of living in the humidity of the bathroom. In addition, like my staights, I keep them in a drawer OUTSIDE the bathroom.

    Well:

I my personal opinion I do use for years now the feathers. I purchased some wilkinson sword from germany ones, but been honest the feathers are the best quality and sharp blades ever. No questions ask.

    thanks

Feathers are great. I've used them for years now and never had any nicks. You have to use a very light touch though.
