    Default Ever-Ready 1924, what a surprise

This boxed Ever-Ready 1924 came as part of the deal with a straight razor that I wanted . It cleaned up nice but as most Canadians know you just can't find SE blades in stores locally. Not here anyway. Quick day trip trip south of the border solved that problem and kept the boss happy with a day out. Got a variety of blades and decided to use a Gem Blue Star for a quick first test shave. Have to say got a better shave than with my Fat Boy which is set on 3. Just a very close smooth shave but the razor seemed really aggressive. I never thought the Ever-Ready would be that good. With that angled head I find it easy to shave with. Now to set the Fat boy to a more aggressive setting and see if it will improve my shaves with it. I think people who use DE safety razors owe it to themselves to try out one of these old SE razors.

There is a lot to like about SE razors. They do tend to be pretty aggressive, though.

Aggressive, I guess so but it sure works slick for me. It could be that I can get a better angle on the blade being more cautious with an aggressive razor. Going to try the Fat Boy set at 9 tomorrow.
