Thread: Muhle R101 Safety Razor

Do u guys have a opinion on the muhle r101 open comb. I have a thick beard and I have closed comb DE's already. So any info on the muhle would be helpful before I buy

I too have a very thick beard and found a 1937 Gillette Sheraton which is open comb that I've found to be great for heavy beards.

although my r101 is the 2011 head(same head as the r41) open comb razors are the way to go for heavy beards, my fav open comb is the Gillette NEW vintage razor, they are easily obtainable on eBay and are very affordable, maybe u can try one of those out first to see if u like it ?

that razor with a feather blade will slice through your thick beard like a hot knife through butter...trust me..they are heavy duty on heavy beards!

Does anyone have any specs on the muhle r101 like the length of the shaft
