Thanked: 13245A little help please
I just snagged this antiquing today
What did I get, and how do I know if it is set on 1 or 9 the notch in the back seems to line up right
Oh yeah the letter and number on the bottom is K 2
And the razor pack looks full and I don't think the razor has been used...
Oh and one last question does this style have a cool name like "Super Speed" or something ?????
TIA for any answers

Awesome snag, Glen. Or, in football terms, GOAL!!!!
We were discussing antiquing today, and given that nice prize you just fetched from the Cracker Jack box, we best get on it!

I use the notch to line up the numbers and that works on my Slim. I don't have a Fatboy but I think it would be the same.

I can't tell you much about them but google Gillette and there are a lot of sites that has info on them, the k 2 is a date code it was made in the 2nd quarter of 1965 As to what model it is I'm not sure but I don't think it's a fatboy the handle looks to thin so It may be a adjustable slim as for what number you start on 1 is mild and 9 being aggressive

Thanked: 1371Glen, I am pretty sure that's a safety razor.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I agree Glen, looks like a slim to me too. I have a few here in the I code ie 1963 and compared it to my D4 Fatboys. They are just a little "thicker in the handle". Some or most have a red dot on the dial. I could be wrong though. Its happened before. Super condition and great find. My brother loves these, I'm just now finally getting him to give the straights a try.
Best Regards Kenny

Thanked: 11851965 Gillette Slim Adjustable. The number selected is under the dark hash mark (it's set on one in the picture). I had a 66 model that I have since gifted to my daughter to shave her legs with. Unless I wanted a really mild shave, I generally kept mine locked somewhere between 7 and 9. At the higher settings it's fairly aggressive and a great shaver.
