Thanked: 10Parker 97r x 94r help
Have any of you used the parker 97 R razor?
I like the parkers, because theyre all brass underneath the chrome, vs stamped mild steel.
How agressive is the 97r compared to say the merkur HD? I think the 94r 71r etc... share the same head.
Thanks!

Ryan,
I have used neither of these Parker razor. I understand they share similar characteristics with the Merkur 34C HD.

Thanked: 10Thanks Obie. I've heard they have a bit of a bite, but the brass frame is really appealing, especially for the price!

Thanked: 10As a recap,
I ordered the Parker 97R and have had a few shaves with a Derby blade. I've got to say, I'm really impressed. Its a little more aggressive than the EJ89, but honestly, I've been using it constantly since I got it. Its really nice, and with the additional blade gap, it gives you a lot of control in spots like under the nose, and trims a wicked sideburn. I'm really impressed. Plus, the Blades seem to last a little longer in this for some reason. I'm not sure if the hair clogs less because of the extra exposure, and it cleans better, not sure. I'd say don't be scared away when you hear about the aggressiveness of these. They are slightly more, but also very smooth with a steady hand. Ryan
