Thread: Titan H1 vs. Weber

I, too, am fond of the Progress, Lynn. I usually match it with the Gillette 7 O'Clock yellows or Super Iridium. Indeed, the Progress is a fine razor. I had the iKon OSS, the split personality razor with the dual shave head. The shave was frustrating. I have never used the other iKon models. I would have loved to have one of the old open combs, but despite the hard search, I did not find one. I am looking forward to ordering the new iKon models, both the open and closed comb.

Thanked: 4942I hear ya. I am liking the open comb for first pass and then the bar side for the clean up though. Took a bit to adjust to, but it's a nice razor. I'm gonna have to try the Super Iridium's.

Yes, the iKon OSS is a handsome razor, and well made. I used the razor in the same way as you, but even that got on my nerves. In retrospect, I think I should have given it a chance. In the meantime, I can't wait to try the new models.

Thanked: 1079By far the Titan H1 is more aggressive then the Weber. I have tried several blades in the Hi including a Kai & Polsilver Super Iridium. Incredibly close with only two passes. I did own the R41 (2011) and it was too much for me. Aggressive is an under statement although some guys can handle it. I think Obie will like the H1 provided he doesn't exceed two passes.

Thanks for your thoughts, blueman. Yes, I'm sure I will like the Titan H1. And, yes, two passes will do it. That's what I do with the FaTip, Joris and the other aggressive razors. I'll keep everyone apprised of my Titan adventure. By the way, I bought and sold the Muhle R41 three times. The razor shaved remarkably well and close without nicks or razor burn, but I could not make myself like the thing. Finally I came to the conclusion that the Muhle R41 is just a mean razor.

Thanked: 1195Obie, you must have a pallet of Iridiums stashed away at your house, I haven't seen them around in quite some time....

Hello Ryan:
Yes, I do have a stash of Super Iridium blades, which I guard within a perimeter of claymore mines. World, keep out!
Super Iridium is now produced under the name Polsilver Iridium, in Poland, I believe. Here is a link:

Stay well.
